Vizcaya Museum & Gardens in Miami, FL
Vizcaya Museum & Gardens in Miami, FL
*I received tickets to the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens in Miami, FL to facilitate my review. All thoughts are 100% honest and my own.
I was in Florida for a few weeks and had the chance to hang out with my nephew, Jayden. He loves history and museums so he was really excited to see Vizcaya Museum & Gardens. We had such a great day together!
Vizcaya, now named the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, is the former villa and estate of businessman James Deering, of the Deering McCormick-International Harvester fortune, on Biscayne Bay in the present day Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami, Florida. The early 20th century Vizcaya estate also includes: extensive Italian Renaissance gardens; native woodland landscape; and a historic village outbuildings compound. The landscape and architecture were influenced byVeneto and Tuscan Italian Renaissance models and designed in the Mediterranean Revival architecture style, with Baroque elements. Paul Chalfin was the design director.
Jayden and I spent the day at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens and had a blast! We both love history. We started the day with a self guided audio tour. We were able to go through the rooms in the house and learn about the architecture, design and more. The house was amazing! There is so much history in the walls of the mansion.

All of the rooms were absolutely gorgeous! The mansion was built in the 20th century but they were also fans of art and history and some of the furniture and other pieces were from the 1700’s!
It was so much fun to see all the detail in the furniture and decorations.
There was so much detail that you could literally spend an hour in each room and I’m not sure you’d pick up on everything. The ceilings even have ornate decorations.
Everything was so elegant. I can only imagine how amazing it would be to live in such a mansion.
The house had an open area in the center of the house. You could sit in the sun during the day or gaze up at the stars during the evening. All the rooms opened up into the courtyard.
Everything was so luxurious! I would love to have attended a party and stayed at the mansion.

After the tour we headed out to the amazing gardens. It was gorgeous!
Everything was so well manicured and peaceful.
We spent all day just enjoying the sites. The colors and design were so peaceful and calm. I can’t imagine how amazing it would be to live here. I’m not sure I’d ever leave.
We learned all about the parties and guests that visited.
This was one of my favorite views. It’s the historic with the new in the background.
If you’re in the south Florida area I highly recommend checking out the Museum and Gardens!
