5 Family Travel Tips and the Kia Soul Exclaim

I received the Kia Soul Exclaim for 1 week to test drive in order to review. All thoughts and opinions in this post are 100% my own.

family travel tips

This summer has had my family leaving for several extended weekend trips. Trips are usually fun but can get complicated when you have 2 children ages 10 and 15. They do not always make the best traveling companions mainly because they are related. If they were not related I am sure they would get along so much better. Our last trip we had the chance to test drive the Kia Soul Exclaim. The features made our trip more enjoyable and I even discovered these 5 Family Travel Tips to help make any car family trip more bearable.

5 Family Travel Tips

Tip #1 – Assign each child a “Travel Bag” to hold their items they will use during car rides. Things to include: headphones, iPod, phone, tablets, books, coloring books, crayons, notebooks, pens, etc.

Tip #2 – Give everyone 30 minutes to control the radio and select the music they want to listen to. The “Exclaim” made this even more exciting with the Infinity Audio System and Sirius XM Radio.

Tip #3 – Pack snacks/treats to avoid wasting time and money making stops for treats along your drive. The “Exclaim” has a center console with storage bin that provides a fantastic place to store snacks for easy access while driving.

Tip #4 – Make sure that there is room for everyone to sit comfortably during the drive. Pack according to the storage space provided with the vehicle you are driving. Nothing sets tempers flaring than being overcrowded in a vehicle. If you are unsure how much will fit do a trial run a week before you are set to leave with your empty luggage.  We were very pleased with the storage space provided with the “Exclaim” and had plenty of room left over to bring home souvenirs.

Tip #5 – Be flexible and open to change. Some of the best times on trips come from taking a wrong turn or visiting something that wasn’t planned. Be willing to embrace the unexpected and view the wrong turn as possibly the right turn.

If you are looking for a new vehicle that is travel worthy, check out the Kia Soul Exclaim. Although we were given the Exclaim to test drive, we are the proud owners of a Kia Soul Plus. My opinions of the Kia Soul are genuine. We love the space and comfort that it has to offer for short or long trips. The Exclaim has “extras” that the Plus does not including Panoramic Sunroof with Power Sunshade.
