Kia Forte Review

Kia Forte Review

Disclaimer: I received the Kia Forte to use for a week for free. However, all opinions are 100% my own.

I recently had the chance to spend a week with the 2014 Kia Forte EX. We have driven SUVs or Mini Vans for the past 10 years so this was a big change for the whole family. My kids are 10 and 15 so I was interested to see how they would fare in the back seat of a car for a week. Plus my husband is 6’2″ so I was interested to see how he would handle driving and riding in a compact car like the Kia Forte EX.  We had the Forte for less than an hour when we headed to downtown Royal Oak to take it for a spin and to enjoy some delicious Blaze Pizza

The Kia Forte starts out at only $15,900. This is a great price for a car that comes equipped with some great options and great gas mileage. The estimated miles per gallon is 25 city/37 highway. (This is pretty spot on.) Some other great features of the EX are listed below.

  • Power Folding Mirrors
  • Rear View Camera Display
  • EX – 173hp
  • 2.0l engine
  • SiriusXM Satellite radio
  • Bluetooth Wireless technology
  • LED positioning Lights
  • UVO eServices
  • Sunroof Optional
  • Projector Beam Headlights
  • Front Fog Lights
  • Heated Rear Glass
  • 16″ Alloy Wheels

Kia Forte 3

After spending a week with the Kia Forte, I did not want to give it back. We found that the back seat space was not much smaller than our SUV so there was no complaining from the kids. They enjoyed having a new car so there wasn’t any fighting either. My husband (who as I said is 6’2″) did not have any problem getting into the car and found it comfortable to drive. I am someone who prefers to be the passenger but found myself volunteering to drive anytime we went somewhere and even to run the silly 5 minute errands that I usually pawn off. It has great get up and go and the trunk space was everything a busy wife and mother could ask for. It has more than enough room to pack for a trip and had room left after a day out shopping. It has more room than my SUV of which I am jealous. I have to say that I highly recommend the Kia Forte to anyone looking to buy or lease a new car.
