Fun for Everyone at the Woodward Dream Cruise
I had the chance to attend a Media Event this evening in preparation for the upcoming Woodward Dream Cruise. This is the 19th year that Woodward will be hosting an organized cruise but for many years people have been cruising Woodward unofficially. The Woodward Dream Cruise is the place to be for everyone and is not just for those that are car buffs or own their own Classic Car.
The Woodward Dream Cruise is August 17, 2013 from 9 AM – 9 PM.
The Woodward Dream Cruise spans a 16 mile section of Woodward Ave in Southeastern Michigan. The route takes drivers and visitors thru the cities of Ferndale, Huntington Woods, Pleasant Ridge, Berkley, Royal Oak, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Twp.and Pontiac. Some cities will feature kick-off events on Thursday the 15th and Friday the 16th. However, if you are the area earlier you will find unofficial activities and gatherings start before the 15th and continue after the 17th.
There is no fee to attend the Woodward Dream Cruise or drive down Woodward Ave. You will find parking located thru out the cities so you can park and enjoy the event on foot. Some lots will charge for parking so make sure to be prepared. If you do not think that watching cars cruise up and down Woodard is enough to entertain your family then you will be thrilled to know that there is more available. You will find activities in many of the participating cities. Activities include Car shows, Kid Zones, Sidewalk Sales, Vendors, and Food Booths.
The Dream Cruise is able to happen thanks to the cooperation of each city involved and the many sponsors. The presenting sponsor is Chevrolet. The Media partners are The Detroit News, WOMC 104.3, WXYZ Detroit Channel 7, The Oakland Press and Cruis’News.
Get ready to buckle up your seatbelts and Cruise when you join over 1 million visitors and 40,000 cars on August 17th, 2013.
