Maui Sands Resort Provides Fun For the Whole Family

I recently visited Ohio for a conference at Cedar Point. We decided to head down a little early and visited the Port Clinton/Sandusky area. After a busy day at Put In Bay Island we headed to Maui Sands for the night. I received the night stay courtesy of Maui Sands and Lake Erie Shores and Islands. 

We were greeted at the front desk by friendly staff who offered us a Hawaiian Lei as a welcome to our tropical paradise.  Our room was the Hana Suite. This suite is  perfect for families. It features a bunk bed area (holds up to 4 children) separated from a private King Size Bed sleeping area. The room has a mini fridge and a microwave which came in handy for heating up leftovers from dinner at Brick Oven Bistro for a late night snack.

After unpacking we headed down to relax in the waterpark. It was not crowded because we were there off season and during the week. I get nervous about losing sight of my kids when at a waterpark but thanks to the set up you can easily see the different areas. This made me feel relaxed about letting my daughter run off and explore the MakaMaka Treehouse. While she did that my husband and I went to relax in the Half Moon Lagoon. It was relaxing but I was soon left alone as my husband went off to join our daughter on the Maui Wowie Bowl Slide or as they like to call it “The Toliet’. They call it that because it swirls you around like the water in a toilet bowl and then shoots you down a tube slide into a pool of water.

After this exciting fun we climbed in tubes and settled in for ride down the Kai River. This lazy river tricks you in a few spots and will send you shooting down the river. All the water excitement left us tired and we were happy to have such a relaxing room to sleep in.

The next morning we enjoyed our complimentary breakfast from the onsite restaurant. During peak season they offer a buffet but were doing cooked to order breakfasts since they were not too busy. The food was delicious and provided an extra value to the stay.

We are already busy preparing our next visit to Maui Sands and know that great service, rooms and waterpark fun will await us.
