Fish Lake Utah
Fish Lake Utah Review – Travel Utah
My dad has always said that God created Fish Lake so that he would have someplace to rest on the seventh day. It is really just that beautiful and peaceful there. Our family goes for about a week every summer to camp and fish there and out of all the places we have been camping and fishing, I still wouldn’t choose another one in Utah to spend out week vacation.
There are 6-7 campgrounds (Lakeside, The Lodge, Bowery Haven, Dr. Creek, Mackinaw, and Bowery Creek) – that range from no hookups (great for tents) to full hookups (great for RV’s). Pricing varies, but you can find out more information on the Forrest service site.
There are several things that draw us there, but one if the biggest reasons are the fishing and the wildlife. Around most of the lake you can fish from the shore or anchor your boat close to the shore and fish for perch all day long – nonstop. This is so fun for kids, and it is a great way to teach them how to fish and how to handle the pole. If you want to catch some bigger fish, you are in for a treat because there are a lot of fun ways to get them and you will usually have pretty good luck. Trolling is my families favorite. You can also use down riggers, go fly fishing on float tubes or from the shore, or even do diving. To use the marinas there are small fees, but to load and unload your boat it is free.
Fish Lake offers so much – from wildlife, to fishing to camping to hiking you won’t be disappointed. I love driving around and seeing the wildlife as much as I do catching fish (and that is saying a lot).
