5 Reasons To Take Your Family To Medieval Times in Orlando, Fl

One of my favorite times of the year is when Spring Breaks rolls around. Spring Break is when my family chooses a fun new destination to visit! This year my daughter asked if we could go to Orlando, FL to visit Universal Studios. Who can argue with that right!? Orlando is one of my favorite cities to visit any time of the year. It’s warm, friendly, and fun! It takes us about 10 hours to drive there, but it’s a pretty drive so it’s not to bad! We like road trips anyways!

I wanted to plan a special surprise for our first night in Orlando and I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I had spoken to a few friends of mine that live in Orlando and they all told me how much we would love Medieval Times. So I did some research and decided that they were right! My daughter loves anything medieval and who doesn’t love a great meal right? So I got in touch with the awesome people at Medieval Times and set up a time to visit while we were in Orlando. I didn’t tell my daughter we were going until we pulled up and she was SO excited! My family had a wonderful night, an awesome meal, and memories to last a lifetime. I wanted to share with you 5 reasons you should take your family to Medieval Times so your family can have a “Knight” to remember like ours did! Let’s start with #1…..

#1 The Shopping!

 

Before you head in for dinner you have time to look around the castle! In the main room they have all kinds of souvenirs available for purchase. They have something for everyone! We opted to grab a flag for our Knight that we would be cheering for that evening (Black and White for life yo!) and my daughter had to have a sword so she could pretend to be a Knight too. ( No princess crown for my little one!). They also offer refreshment and booze that you can preorder for your dinner!

#2 The Atmosphere 

 

From the moment you step into the Medieval Times castle you are transported back to a time where Kings ruled the lands and the main form of transportation was a beautiful horse. At Medieval Times you can visit with the king, step into a medieval village before dinner, and eat your dinner with your hands (which I think was my daughters favorite part ha!). And if you are celebrating something special while you are there you can upgrade your package with special shoutouts, framed photos, cake, and more!

#3 The Food!

 

You guys, the food was a-maze-ing. Seriously. You will eat like royalty and leave full and happy. The bill of fare for the evening includes:

• Oven Roasted Chicken- Realllllly moist and delicious.
• Fresh Bread- Right out of the oven! Hot and buttery.
• Tomato Bisque- Hot, smooth, and had a great flavor.
• Sweet Buttered Corn- Super yummy!
• Herb-Roasted Potato- Great seasoning, nice and crispy on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside.
• Pastry of the Castle- We received an apple turnover, the perfect way to end a meal
• Unlimited beverages- They offer soda, tea, and water.

#4 The Entertaiment

 

When it comes to making sure you family has a great time, Medieval Times knows what they are doing! Every section has a different Knight that you cheer for throughout the night. You are introduced to the King and Princess, and then the Knights. You also get to enjoy the majestic horses and other animals. I don’t want to give away the show too much, so let me just say that you will be entertained from the minute you step foot into the castle until you are back in your car on the way out!

#5 The Action!

 

Who doesn’t love a good sword fight right!? I am super impressed with how talented the entire staff at Medieval Times is! They really have a knack for drawing you into the story and into their world. My family spend most of the evening clapping, hollaring, and cheering for our Black and White Knight as he fought his way to the top. The swords sparked, the Knights did tricks, and the show was awesome! It is a night I’m sure my family will remember forever!
