Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland
Disclosure: My family and I received complimentary tickets to Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland. All opinions are strictly our own.
Last winter, while on vacation, my family and i took in the Holiday lights at Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland in Sevierville, Tennessee. I missed posting this in time for you to visit for the 2013 season. But there is s till plenty of time to visit this year!
Each year, Sevier County, Tennessee host Winterfest and decorates the strip going from Sevierville through Gatlinburg with Holiday lights and Ii’ll also be sharing some of that with you. But in addition to the main Winterfest lights, they also host an awesome light show called Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland. The photos below are ones that we took last season. Last years theme was Santa’s Beach Party and the majority of the light decorations had something to do with the beach or ocean. This years theme is a bit different but I wanted to show you what you can look forward to. It was so cute and this is such a great attraction to visit if you are spending any part of Christmas in the Smoky Mountains.
The light show is set to music. When you first drive in you will see a sign to tune your radio to a specific station. When you do, you will begin to hear Christmas music that is in sync with the lights. Each display of lights moves in rhythm with the music.
The photo above shoes Rudolph and the elves aboard the mighty SS Santa ship.
The photo below shows one of my favorite displays. Santa and Rudolph are driving a dune buggy while an elf parasails along the beach. So cute!
This photo shows you how the light displays are featured together. When you are driving through, there is one display after another. There is a LOT to take in!
These light displays were really big. You have to really look up at some of them to take it all in. And there are loads of them. after driving through the themed displays, you will go through a set of lighted holiday trees that blink in rhythm to some very pretty Holiday music. It was breathtaking to watch. I wanted to pull over and just look and listen but you do have to keep moving.
Don’t worry, you can go through fairly slowly, just don’t come to a complete stop. I believe there were a couple spots where we were allowed to pull off for quick photos though.
