Things to do in Albuquerque, New Mexico
Last year as we were on our Fall Travel Adventure, I thought it would be nice to stop in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We had never been through New Mexico and I had heard nothing but good things about it.
We stayed at the Nativo Lodge which is conveniently and centrally located to the all the area attractions and very nice with great prices. It is rich in Native American Culture and shows it throughout the lodge.

One thing that I always did want to see was the Hot Air Balloon Festival. Unfortunately, I didn’t do too well at planning our trip, because we missed it by about 5 days. I guess I will just have to keep it on our bucket list.
We arrived in Albuquerque just after sunset, thanks to mother nature. We had to change our travel route because it decided it was going to snow across the left half of Kansas. We don’t do snow anymore since we moved from New York, 10 years ago. Instead of going across and down, we had to head south into Oklahoma and across into New Mexico. So, we weren’t able to see or do anything that evening.
I never realized how beautiful Albuquerque was with all the mountains. I was glad we got to see some of it before the sun set. I also didn’t realize that it gets darker earlier because of the mountains.
There are many things to do in Albuquerque, like Hot Air Balloon Rides, the Rattlesnake Museum, which was awesome by the way, Historic Old Town, Aquarium, Botanic Garden, Coronado Historic Site, Corrales Winery, the Sandia Peak Tramway, (which I really wanted to go on, but am afraid of heights) Rio Grande Zoo, and so much more.
Albuquerque is definitely a place I would love to visit again when I have more time to see all the other fascinating things to do. We are planning another trip to the west coast again this year, and maybe I can plan it better so we are able to see the amazing Hot Air Balloon Festival. and more.
