The James Chicago hosts V.I.R. Kidzapalooza
Who says that little kids can’t party like rock stars? The smallest rockers will have their own musical celebration at Kidzapalooza. The James Chicago will host its annual V.I.R (Very Important Rocker) event on Sunday, August 3. From 8:30 am till 11:00 am, this all ages concert will feature music artists from the Kidzapalooza stage in the Great Room of The James.
“We are thrilled to be bringing Kidzapalooza’s V.I.R. event back to The James Chicago for the fourth year to share the rock and roll energy of Lollapalooza in a family-friendly environment,” says Tor Hyams, co-founder of Kidzapalooza. “We love to having the opportunity to immerse music’s youngest fans in the festival weekend.”
Throughout the morning, each performer will play an “unplugged” set, sign autographs and take pictures with fans. This year’s V.I.R. lineup includes Ralph’s World, Brady Rymer, Happiness Club, and Laura Doherty & Jeanie B from the Kindie Allstars.
Understanding that the Chicago offers a dynamic and vibrant culture, The James created the Cultural Collection program. The Kidzapalooza event will be partnering with Common Threads. Common Threas is dedicated to teaching children in under-served communities to cook wholesome, healthy meals in professional led, curriculum based after school programs. Following the concert, attendees can enjoy nutritious snacks and cooking demonstrations courtesy of Common Threads. A donation of ten dollars is recommended per family for admittance. Donations can be made at the door or in advance by visiting the Common Threads events page.
“Partnering with The James and Kidzapalooza for this year’s V.I.R. event is a perfect fit for us,” says Linda Novick O’Keefe, Executive Director of Common Threads. “We look forward to cooking up healthy recipes and educating the local community about nutritious eating before and after the concert.”
Common Threads will also feature food partners including Lifeway and Quaker, who will be passing out samples and holding giveaways throughout the morning for families to enjoy.
