My families adventure at the Titanic Museum Pigeon Forge Tennessee:
We all loved the tour of this museum! Be prepared to be amazed and learn more than you ever thought possible about the ship, her passengers and crew.
Before you go on the tour, the greeter gives you a card with the name of one of the actual passengers from the titanic. You can then look for things throughout the museum that had to do with the passenger you were given. As we were about to enter the museum, one of our guides said that the museum hoped to pay respect to those who lost their lives on that fateful night, and the best way they could think to do that was to simply tell their stories. When you visit, I definitely recommend geting the audio players. It makes the experience so much better! Note that neither cameras nor cell phones are allowed within the museum. While no photographs are allowed inside the museum, I can tell you that the museum is full of amazing artifacts worth over 4 million dollars! The museum did a great job of showing you what some of the people went through. We got to put our hands in water that was the exact temperature of the water that night and it was hard to keep them in there more than 15 seconds! I cannot imagine being submerged in the water for as long as some of the passegers were. At the end of the tour, we found out whether our passenger lived or died that night. All of our passengers lived!
I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to this museum. I bet you would discover new things every time The museum also aims to present something new almost every year. In 2014, they are going to have an exhibit focused on “Unsinkable Molly” Brown, an American passenger of the ship.
