Freedom Celebration in Renick, West Virginia

As we were leaving the White Oak Berry Farm today we stopped as a parade went by.  As it turns out, it was the Renick Freedom Celebration and the parade was just a small part of the festivities planned for the day.  Every year on the last Saturday of June, the town comes together with fun, family activities and food along the banks of the Greenbrier River at the Renick park.  Events included crafts, live music, horseshoe and cornhole tournaments and a playland for the children.  Since we were just passing through, we didn’t know about the other events going on, but we’re glad we got to check out the parade.
