A little bit of history about the tram leads you to discover it planning and construction were not easy. It took two years for the tram to move from an idea to a construction project. And the tram construction took 24 months with over five months just to lay the cable up the side of the mountain. And once construction was complete the tram went through 60 days of safety testing before taking its first visitors to the top on May 7, 1966.
