Living in Michigan my whole life does not make me an expert on what there is to do in Metro Detroit. I often take to the internet to find new things to do or end up doing the same things. I am often disappointed when I find out about great events after the fact. I know this is frustrating for a lot of people and visitors to Michigan may miss out on many great events. Maker Faire at The Henry Ford  – This Family Friendly activity features more than 300 exhibits with demonstrations and hands on workshops. These feature robotics, electronics, rockets,food and fashion

Woodward Dream Cruise – This popular classic care cruise draw more than 1 million visitors and over 50,000 cars including muscle cars, streetrods, custom, collector, and special interest vehicles. This is the 19th year and has many great events throughout the day scheduled in numerous cities up and down Woodward Ave.

Michigan Renaissance Festival – This event runs for over a month in Holly,MI. These interactive and outdoor activities include several themed weekends. This festival recreates the days of Queen Elizabeth I. You will find food, crafts and entertainment for the whole family.

Nascar Sprint Cup Series Pure Michigan 400 –  This is the second Nascar event of the year held in Michigan. Michigan International Speedway is Nascar’s fastest racetrack. Enjoy 43 drivers doing 200 laps as they drive it out to see who will win.

Detroit Jazz Festival – Labor Day Weekend brings many exciting activities to take in during the holiday weekend. In its 34th year, this festival features five stages and 100 acts over four days. It takes place from Hart Plaza to Campus Martius Park. This free festival provides opportunities for education, fireworks, jam sessions and opportunities to meet the artists.

Arts, Beats & Eats Festival – Another great Labor Day Weekend activity happens in downtown Royal Oak. More than 200 performances will take place on ten stages. Activities include a fine arts show, fine cuisine offered by local restaurants, and so much more find fun for all ages.
