Have fun in the Smokies at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Recently, me and my family got the chance to visit one of the best theme parks in the Us, Dollywood! Dollywood is located in the heart of the Smoky Mountains in the town of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee!  I have been going to Dollywood since I was very small, and I have just as much fun now as an adult, as I did when I was a kid! This was the first time my daughter (5) was able to come with me, so I was SO excited to show her why Dollywood was one of my favorite theme parks to visit! It was also my first time visiting during the fall!

While I was there the National Southern Gospel & Harvest Celebration was going on, which runs from October 2nd-November 2nd. This made going to Dollywood in the fall a whole different experience than going in the summer like I normally had. They had the park decorated in pumpkins and all things fall, gospel music was played throughout the park, and they had craft vendors from all over the US showing off and selling their crafts!

Here are some of the things my family liked best about Dollywood:

The Photo Opps! There are a plethora of places around Dollywood to grab great family photos!  I am a big scrapbooker, so I get really excited at photo opps for myself and my family. The photo props change throughout the year, so no matter what time you go, there will be plenty of chances to say “Cheese!” and make family memories.

The Rides! Dollywood has great rides for everyone in the family! From Top-Notch Roller coasters, water rides, and thrill rides, to rides perfect for the kids, and even a train, Dollywood has a ride guaranteed to help you have a great time!

The Food! If you love southern cooking (and who doesn’t right!?) Then you will LOVE the selection of food offered at Dollywood. They offer 26 different restaurants that are filled with yummy things such as roasted corn (which is what we had. A.Maze.Ing), funnel cakes, an all-you-can-eat buffet, and more! The prices are affordable, and the food is great!

The Entertainment! Whether you are walking past some singing characters, or hanging at one of the stages listening to some bluegrass music, Dollywood is sure to keep your entertained! They offer different shows at different parts of the year, and have awesome Christmas presentations! We enjoyed some great gospel music during our visit, and the shows are included in your ticket price!

How Kid Friendly it is! Dollywood has an entire section of their park dedicated to the little ones in your family. It’s called the  Country Fair. It’s got great rides and fun (like carnival games!) that are geared toward kids. My 5 year old loved the fact that they had rides in this section of the park that she could ride all by herself!

The Shopping! No matter what time of year your visit Dollywood, you are sure to find something awesome to take home with you! They have shops filled with clothing, handmade items, toys, Christmas items, Dollywood themed items, and even an entire clothing shop that is set up like Dolly herself’s closet!

The Memories! My family and I had such an amazing time visiting Dollywood and I’m sure we will be back very soon!
