Where in the world is Easton, PA?

Easton PA is in eastern Pennsylvania about 1 hour and 30 min north of Philadelphia and only 1 hour and 30 min west of New York City. The Crayola Experience is located at 30 Centre Square. Plan on parking in the parking garage on the street directly behind the building. If you choose to park on the street you will have to feed the meter every 2-3 hours depending on where you park.

What is there to do at the Crayola Experience?

You could spend a whole day enjoying the Crayola Factory. See all those activities listed in the picture above? That is just one floor. There are 4 stories of colorful fun! You can make your own label for a crayon. You can play with modeling clay. You can color pictures using crayons from the biggest coloring caddy you will ever see. You can check out the world’s largest crayon. You can melt and mold a crayon into one of three shapes. I made a ring. You can doodle in the dark with glowing markers. You can paint with melted wax. Our favorite activity was probably the drip art. You melt two different colored crayons onto a spinning disc of paper. Way cool!

Tips to get the most out of your Crayola Experience?

Children from ages 2 to 99 will enjoy the Crayola Experience! I had just as much fun as my kids. I loved learning how crayons are made, coloring, and creating! The kids will love playing on the indoor play structures. Our children also really loved the Water Works water play area. You get to float a Crayola boat through a series of canal locks and down the river. We did this activity twice. This was a popular activity and even though it was busy we did not have to wait in line very long. I would also suggest you get there early and then head straight for the 4th floor. There are several activities on the fourth floor and you will have to wait in line for all of them. However, we did not have to wait for very long at any one activity. We then worked our way down to the other floors and then went back to visit the Water Works and indoor play areas twice. I would avoid the elevator and take the stairs if you can. The elevator was slow and my kids were too excited to wait on it so we just took the stairs. Check the schedule for live theater shows and make sure you take in the live show “Crayon Factory”  to watch crayons being made and learn some interesting facts about Crayola. Let your kids decide where to go first on each floor and let them spend as much time as they want being creative. Don’t be afraid to pick up a crayon and get creative yourself. Have fun being a kid again!

What’s it going to cost me?

Buy your tickets online to save a few bucks. We did not eat at the onsite cafe. We did buy popcorn and drinks and I felt that the prices are what you expect at any attraction such as this, a little over priced but not ridiculously so. We did not do any of the extra activities that you have to pay for and I made sure I set this expectation with the kids before we went. There were plenty of free activities to keep us busy all day.
